A12 was a climate exposition, curated by my friend Lucy Schreurs, in the creative hotspot and makerspace Electron. All the artists invited reflect in their own way on the climate crisis. This exposition dwells on the voices of young artists that express their messages in an effective way in a world that is saturated by information an important events. This also connects to the gentrification that has hit Electron and other creative and cultural places in Breda.
The name A12 is symbolic for action and reflection, but also refers to one of the busiest and oldest highways in the Netherlands, which has become a platform for protest. Members from Extinction Rebellion but also farmers have expressed their opinions and concerns on this highway by blocking it as a form of protest.
The exposition lasted from October 2023 until Januari 2024 with an artist talk and sculpting workshop (by Bobbi Cleij) on the 14th of december.
